Don't think THAT will be hanging on the tree next year... |
So, yes. The salt dough crafting session failed. Miserably. The above is what I made. Cole smooshed his creation into the floor and all over the couch and my Husband started making things that I will not mention. I gave up.
On a different note, I promise that my picture quality will get better some day soon... I need to buy a new camera charger. I wish I knew where the old one was. I hate moving!
Were you trying to make ornaments with your salt dough or just making playdough to play with? My favorite recipe for playdough calls for you to cook it. It ends up with approximately the same consistency of store bought playdough. I always loved the stuff. I never tried to make ornaments out of it though. - Mama Carmody
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for stopping by! We only really made it to play with, I was a bit disappointed with the consistency of this dough so would be very interested in trying out your recipe too! As you can see from the picture, making ornaments from this dough did not work so well!!
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma used to make salt dough ornaments and these big fancy, beautiful fruit baskets. She used to make them and then bake them before painting them. I would love to know what her recipe was too!
I've got the recipe on my blog but I'm not trying to spam you. Did you get my email address when I signed up to follow your blog? Just drop me an email and I will send you a link to my blog page with the recipe on it. Have a great evening. - Mama Carmody
ReplyDeleteYou too! You wouldn't be spamming me either :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to be careful. I didn't want to seem like the only reason I was commenting was to get my blog link on here. Just wanted to build a relationship with you first. I try to treat people the way I like to be treated. I get a lot of spam comments on my blog that really aren't trying to support me at all and that's really annoying.
