Review & Giveaway! Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink

I recently had the opportunity to review Premama, Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix. I wish this had have been available when I was pregnant...

When I was pregnant with little man, I had the worst morning sickness ever. It wasn't actually just morning sickness either, it was morning, noon and night sickness. Everyone promised me that it would go away after my first trimester... It didn't. I would wake up in the morning, lay in bed and feel absolutely fine. I would get out of bed and within minutes, I would be running through the house like a crazy woman trying to make it to the bathroom in time. FOR 9 MONTHS. Every little thing would set me off.
My Husband was under STRICT orders not to cook eggs. Ever. Much to his disdain! I tried everything; sucking on lemons, eating ginger, eating before I got out of bed, eating before I went to bed, nothing worked. The one thing that made it worse was prenatal vitamins. I tried SO hard to take them every day, I tried 5 different brands! I couldn't do it! The smell of them, the size of them (why oh why on gods earth do they need to be so big!?) I had to stop taking them. It didn't do Cole any harm, I still would have preferred to take them though :(

Anyway. The Premama vitamins come in a powdered supplement. They are Doctor recommended and have all the same benefits of traditional prenatal vitamins and contain all the nutrients that a baby needs. The key ingredients are:
  • Biotin
  • B Vitamins
  •  DHA Omega-3 Fatty Acid
  • Vitamin D3
  • Proprietary Iron Blend
  • Coenzyme Q10
  • Choline
  • Ginger Root
  • Folic Acid
You can check out all of the nutritional benefits for yourself by clicking HERE

Premama's ingredients have also been shown to help relieve certain prenatal symptoms such as nausea and constipation.

Now baring in mind that I am not a pregnant woman testing these out, after trying them, I am unsure whether these would have worked for me or not. It is suggested that you mix it with your favorite beverage. (Orange Juice, Iced Tea, Fruit Flavored Beverages or Milk. They do not advise you to mix it with Hot Drinks or Soda) I tried it first with water and know for a fact that if I had have been pregnant, I probably would have projectile vomited immediately. It's not that it has a bad taste, it's the smell! It has the 'herbally' smell of all vitamins and that's what did me in when I was pregnant! After that, I mixed it with Orange Juice and couldn't taste it at all... I could still smell it a little bit, but nowhere near as bad! This is the only reason why I, personally am not sure if it would have worked for me. I do love the product and it's about time someone came up with this idea! They are also in the process of creating flavors, which may solve the problem of the smell!

My conclusion is, that if you are pregnant and have a problem with taking RIDICULOUSLY large pills or are suffering from morning sickness that is aggravated by prenatal's, I would definitely give this a shot!

  1. Great information, thanks for sharing. I never took vitamins while I was pregnant, they made me sick. I took the tiny folic acid pill and that was all and every now and then I would take a chew-able baby vitamin. I ate enough for 10 people while I was pregnant so I figured they were getting all they needed and they did. :)

  3. I really like that they offer opportunities to host parties for our friends. I love having a party to share new products or ideas and since most of my friends are adding to their families right now, this would be a great one!
